In the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum APEC2024, Sidney Novoa, Director of GIS and Technologies for Conservation at Conservación Amazónica – ACCA, participated on August 12 in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) Workshop on “Innovation in Information Systems in APEC Economies, for Traceability and Assurance of the Legal Origin of Wood”.
At this event, organized by the National Forest and Wildlife Service – Serfor Peru, within the framework of the Group of Experts on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade – (EGILAT), Sidney had the opportunity to present the innovative tools developed by Conservación Amazónica – ACCA within the framework of the SERVIR-Amazonia program.
These tools are designed for the satellite detection of illegal and selective logging in the Amazon, thus contributing to the conservation of our forests.
