Fundación EcoCiencia, thanks to the support provided within the framework of services of the SERVIR-Amazonia Program, together with INAMHI (Instituto Nacional de Meteorología e Hidrología) with the GEOGLOWS initiative, will be part of the GEO (Group Earth Observations) team, coordinated by the IGM (Instituto Geográfico Militar del Ecuador).

The IGM was appointed by the Foreign Ministry of Ecuador as representative of the GEO for the country and will be responsible for creating and coordinating the GEO team under the different lines of action, with a view to the “AmeriGeo Week” event that will take place at the end of the month of August in Quito, Ecuador.

It is worth noting that the AmeriGeo initiative seeks to promote collaboration and coordination among the members of the Earth Observations Group in the American continent, to make future a reality in which decisions and actions, for the benefit of the region, are helped by Earth observations.
